Donald Trump Unintentionally Helped Cripple "Progressive" Activism, And It's A Glorious Sight To Behold
Talk about serendipity at its finest.
“You’re a racist! You’re a racist! You’re a racist! You’re all racists!”
No, that’s not the sound of Oprah Winfrey speaking. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the sound currently being heard inside the hallways of virtually every nutjob “progressive” advocacy group and political campaign in America.
Thanks in part to the election of Donald J. Trump, the lunatics inside these veritable insane asylums now spend more time accusing each other of this or that ‘ism (racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc.) than pushing their destructive agenda.
According a profile by The Intercept, the internal squabbles have grown so severe and commonplace inside these organizations that they “have effectively sidelined major progressive institutions at a critical moment in U.S. and world history.”
“We used to want to make the world a better place. Now we just make our organizations more miserable to work at,” one unnamed leader of a “progressive” group told the left-wing outlet.
The infighting has been so disastrous to the “progressive” agenda — i.e., more regulations, taxes, abortion, gun control, racial quotas, racial essentialism, school indoctrination, censorship, “wokism,” etc. — that another unnamed “progressive” leader said it almost feels like it’s part of some right-wing psyops.
“I’m not saying it’s a right-wing plot, because we are incredibly good at doing ourselves in, but — if you tried — you couldn’t conceive of a better right-wing plot to paralyze progressive leaders,” they said.
A third leader added, “Progressive leaders cannot do anything but fight inside the orgs, thereby rendering the orgs completely toothless for the external battles in play.”
Here’s how Trump fits in with all this: Every frustrated “progressive” activist The Intercept spoke with cited “the election of Trump in 2016 as a catalyst” for this madness.
“Whatever internal tension had been pulling at the seams of organizations in the years prior, Trump’s shock victory sharpened the focus of activists and regular people alike. The institutional progressive world based in Washington, D.C., reacted slowly, shell-shocked and unsure of its place, but people outside those institutions raced ahead of them. A period of mourning turned into fierce determination to resist,” according to The Intercept.
But instead of just “resisting” Trump by calling him a racist, a sexist, a whatever, these dimwits hilariously wound up resisting one another.
The icing on the cake is that nobody has been immune, not even the minorities on whose behalf these lunatic “progressives” claim to be “resisting.”
“Dianne Morales, a woman of color, saw her New York mayoral campaign blown up by a staff uprising, which included complaints of mistreatment, misogyny, and racism as well as a demand that workers be paid while on strike, which Morales noted was illegal given the campaign’s use of public financing,” according to The Intercept.
Similar blow-ups happened to “Ihssane Leckey, a Muslim immigrant from Morocco running for a congressional seat outside Boston; Brandy Brooks, a Black woman running for Montgomery County Council in Maryland; and Shahid Buttar, an Ahmadiyya Muslim immigrant running for Congress in San Francisco.”
Even Mark Rudd, an original member of the left-wing terrorist group Weather Underground, has fallen prey to the “woke” inquisitors.
“I have myself encountered it multiple times in the last years. And in fact, I was thrown out of an organization that I founded because of my ‘racism.’ What was my racism? When I tell people things that they didn’t want to hear,” he said to The Intercept.
The Intercept notes that, instead of spending their time drumming up support for the “progressive” agenda, these garbage organizations are now all locked in an endless battle “over hierarchy, patriarchy, race, gender, and power.”
“So much energy has been devoted to the internal strife and internal bullshit that it’s had a real impact on the ability for groups to deliver. It’s been huge, particularly over the last year and a half or so, the ability for groups to focus on their mission, whether it’s reproductive justice, or jobs, or fighting climate change,” one group leader said.
“[I]t has become nearly all-consuming for some organizations, spreading beyond subcultures of the left and into major liberal institutions,” according to The Intercept.
“My last nine months, I was spending 90 to 95 percent of my time on internal strife. Whereas [before] that would have been 25-30 percent tops,” one of the outlet’s other sources said.
What remains unclear is how long these morons will remain locked in this cycle. The Intercept concludes its profile by admitting that “the pendulum may be swinging back” as some of these “woke” nimrods start to wake up for real.
It’s therefore imperative that we as conservatives capitalize on the “progressive” left’s ongoing stupidity as best as we can by continuing to build out our own institutions as quickly as possible. Because while it’s certainly fun to laugh at and mock these simpletons, what they want to do to this country is no laughing matter.
The good news, of course, is that the more time they spend calling each other racist, the less time they have left to dedicate to destroying this nation — and that is indeed something glorious.
