I’m responding to this:
Listen, Fox News is showing these videos because they provide an accurate portrayal of the horror that families across the nation are facing.
"But, but only a small number of people are being murdered."
People are still dying needlessly, and their lives matter.
Let me put it like this: If I were ever murdered, you damn right I'd want my murder to receive national attention -- because every life matters. Especially mine!
Point is there's nothing inherently wrong with showing real-life crime. In fact, the attempt to suppress the stories is a slap in the face to the deceased and their families.
Nor is there anything wrong with showing real-life crime stories in which the offenders are disproportionately black. According to the data, the majority of homicide perpetrators are black. This is a raw fact — PolitiFact's "context" be damned — and facts matter, even when they're inconvenient.
Moreover, the rate at which black offenders hurt/murder other races is significantly higher than the rate at which others hurt/murder black victims. The black/Asian dynamic is particularly startling:
“But, but facts are white supremacist talking points!’
No, they’re not. Facts are tools used to build narratives. There are two types of narratives in this world: truthful narratives and deceitful narratives. Real journalists enjoy building truthful ones — even when they’re unpopular.
